Blending Class Place Setting

First Steps; a Sip, a Taste, a Perfect Pairing with a Love of Writing to enhance your dining experience.

Welcome to my dream come true. Many people love good food, fresh, flavorful, perfectly prepared and love good wine from grapes skillfully and lovingly crafted; either alone is wonderful, paired properly, they are far better than the sum of their parts. In learning about both from some of the best of our times, and having the privilege to write about those jewels and taste perfect pairings, it has become my dream to share with friends, family, and restaurants, country clubs, and even folks planning a special event.

After 10 years of researching tasting notes, winemaker notes, vintners’ stories for a beloved charity wine auction, I’ve been hungering to marry my passion for writing, with this knowledge, to benefit restaurants, clubs, chefs (professional and amateur) and oenophiles to pair perfect wines with their menus. Pairings that showcase the food, the wine, and frame the evening’s experience perfectly. After musing over this longing for years, on the occasion of a move, I began to “pair” writing skills with business planning skills. Today is the first step to test whether or not this is a sound pairing. Does it have “legs”?

The best part about working for Alliance for Vision Research and their primary fundraising event A Night for Sight has been learning about the amazing talent and generosity that define wine communities and restaurateurs. Alliance for Vision Research funds research to restore, preserve and improve vision, especially in our most vulnerable loved ones – children and the elderly. The grantees have done amazing work in ROPARD (Retinopathy of Prematurity and Related Diseases), Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and Low Vision. To learn more about this work please visit their website http://www.anfs.org or visit them on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Night-for-Sight/152395986728 .

In the next few days, look for menus and wines that have worked recently. Photographs of wine cellars, vintners, restaurants, chefs, and beautiful tables set with you in mind. Please join the journey!
